Rugby World Cup warm-ups: Scotland 31 Ireland 21
Scotland achieved two things yesterday: they beat Ireland and they made me look stupid. I don't know where Frank Hadden has been with his team over the summer, but it seems he has had his forwards in some secret government program that can turn mediocre players into bionic superhuman powerhouses. Such was the extent of the Scottish domination up front, they managed to shove Ireland off the ball on their own feed a couple of times. Alloyed to this power was some finesse, with centre Henderson claiming a hat-trick of tries.
Ireland were as awful as scrum-half Isaac Boss's hair, and Eddie O'Sullivan has much to ponder, mostly around player attitude. Even a second string should not be cowed so easily, and he will have to ask some serious questions before he names his final squad.
